Dark Chocolate
Chocolate.
I cannot live without it.
Good chocolate is a must. Dark chocolate, I adore.
Bittersweet, with a strong chocolatey aroma, that's what dark chocolate should be like. I have an affinity for Lindt 70% chocolates. The higher the cocoa content, the better.
Whenever I bake, I try to use dark chocolate as often as possible.
Maybe not the 70% ones (that'll be too expensive). I normally use the one with 52% cocoa content. I buy mine from Carrefour.
Okay, it might sound 'cheap' but it really isn't. It's one of the better baking chocolate I've used. I always use it in my chocolate chunk cookies. In fact, I've just made a batch a few days ago to send to someone - part of the Blogging by Mail event (hosted by Nic) I'm taking part in. More about that in another post.

Swirls of brown
My tongue

With the dark brown
Swirling with ecstasy

My smile hints of something creamy

wow ... checked out the website. the chocolate sounds really good! but if i order it online, would it reach to me in good condition? won't it melt? i don't think they have it here... man, now i feel like trying it. 77% sounds excellent! thanks for the tip steph :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm...good question. You could send them an email and ask them? It's amazing chocolate, believe me! I made a dark chocolate cupcakes filled with dulce de deleche and topped with dark chocolate ganache, using their bars...ooh, lord. If the devil used them in his sales pitch, he'd have a lot more women on his side!

not sure whether they stock them in sg though.
I love chocolate too and I find it so hard to get nice ones in Malaysia. The bake shops use some low grade stuff that they don't even put the cocoa mass on the labels!
ReplyDeleteSo far, I used the Carrefour ones (they're not bad), the Lindt ones and the Droste which can go from 72% to 75%. The 72% Droste is much better than the Lindt 70% and cheaper too!
